Eligibility Criteria

  1. Have finished a Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Not already hold a graduate or PhD degree.
  3. Be 35 years old or younger (born in 1988 or later).
  4. Be a citizen or refugee of a Sub-Saharan African country.
  5. Have spent a significant part of your life in a Sub-Saharan African country.
  6. Face financial challenges.
  7. Achieve academic excellence despite difficulties.
  8. Possess leadership qualities or potential.
  9. Express an interest in and commitment to giving back to your home community.
  10. Require a Canadian study permit.
  11. Not have claimed asylum or protected person status after arriving in Canada.
  12. Commit to returning to Africa to use your training and skills for the benefit of others.

  • Master of Sustainable Forest Management (MSFM)
  • Master of International Forestry (MIF)
  • Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management (MGEM)

2. Faculty of Land and Food Systems:

  • Master of Food and Resource Economics (MFRE)
  • Master of Food Science (MFS)
  • Master of Land and Water Systems (MLWS)

3. Faculty of Science:

  • Master of Data Science

Step-by-Step Process to Apply for Mastercard Foundation Scholarships 2024

Step One: Assess Eligibility

  • Choose your program of interest.
  • Check academic eligibility based on your country.

Step Two: Additional Tests
